In ovarian stimulation medication is given to the patient to stimulate multiple follicular development in the ovaries.

With this process we aim at the production of a wide number of oocytes, since some of them may not be fertilized or may not develop following their fertilisation.

During ovarian stimulation, the ovaries are examined with regular transvaginal ultrasounds and hormonal levels are monitored with blood tests.

The process is usually completed within 10 days and, subsequently, the patient can move on to the procedure of egg retrieval.
