The eggs are retrieved via a minimally invasive surgical procedure, whereby a needle guided by ultrasound is transvaginally inserted to aspirate the oocytes out of the ovarian follicles.
Oocyte retrieval is performed under general anesthesia.

Haris Hiniadis is a member of the Board of Directors of Mother Hospital and a founding member and partner of the YGEIA IVF Embryogenesis Unit.
He was a Specialist Attending Officer at the IVF Unit at St Bart’s University Hospital, London. He trained and retrained in England and France for 6 consecutive years.
